Labra Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Ingredients:

  • 250 gm Red pumpkin
  • 250 gm Potatoes
  • 250 gm Egg plant
  • 250 gm Radish
  • 250 gm Sweet potatoes
  • 250 gm Cabbage
  • 250 gm Cauliflower stem
  • 8 Green chillies
  • 5 - 7 gm Panch phoran
  • 1 cup Mustard oil
  • 1 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • Salt to taste


Let’s prepare/make Labra:

  • Wash the vegetables very well and cut into medium sizes pieces.
  • Heat up oil and put red chilies and panch phoran.
  • Stir it till they got its brown.
  • Add all the vegetables.
  • Put it over medium heat and boil it.
  • Mix green chilies and salt.
  • Cook it for more few minutes.
  • Serve it with rice.

Invisible tree house to be built in Sweden by Tham & Videgard, one of six units in a "Treehotel," which in recent times opened 40 miles south of the Arctic Circle in Sweden.

The four-meter glass cube looks as magnificent in reality as it did in the portrait.

Co-owner of the TreeHotel, Kent Lindvall says, everything will reflect in this- the trees, the birds, the clouds, the sun. So it should be almost invisible in the forest.

According to Designboom, Lindvall says, a special film that is visible to birds will be applied to the glass.
The units are constructed from sustain ably harvested wood and have electric radiant floor heating and "eco-friendly, a state-of-the-art, incineration toilet"

Selberg says, "This is unscathed forest, and we want to maintain it the similar way. We determined, for example, to not offer snowmobile safari which is very common up here." As a replacement for, wilderness walks will be vacant.

  • 1 Cauliflower
  • 1 cup Besan

Let’s prepare/make Fulkopir Vada:

  • Cut the cauliflower into small pieces.
  • To make the pieces soft, boil in water heated in a pan.
  • Mix 1 tsp oil and besan in a large bowl and mix well.
  • Add little water and prepare batter with solid constancy.
  • Add poppy seeds, chili powder and salt.
  • Punch the batter properly.
  • Wet softened cauliflower pieces into the batter.
  • Deep-fry in oil.
  • Remove from the burner and now Fulkopir Vada is ready to serve.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 can Garbanzo Beans
  • Juice of one Lemon

Let’s prepare/make Humus:

  • Drain 1/3 the water from the can of garbanzo beans into a bowl.
  • Keep the bowl aside for later use.
  • Mix together the garbanzo beans with rest of the elements, in a blender.
  • Blend for about few minutes or till smooth.
  • You can add small amount of the saved can water and blend to create a more fluid consistency, if it’s required.
  • Now Humus is ready.

Ingredients:

  • ½ kg Fish
  • 2 Bread slice
  • 2 Egg
  • 1 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2-3 Green Chillies
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala
  • 1½ tbsp Corn Flour
  • 1½ tsp Garlic paste
  • 1½ tsp Ginger paste
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Bunch of Coriander Leaves
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste


Let’s prepare/make Fish Cutlet:

  • Rub fish and Smear with salt and turmeric powder. Wash it after few minutes.
  • For steaming keep the fish over a pan of hot water.
  • Eliminate the bones and smoothly mash it using hands. Soak the bread slices in water and squeeze it.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, corn flour, green chillies, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander leaves, bread slice and salt.
  • Mix all the above component and make walnut sized balls and squash the ball slightly.
  • Take the crushed egg. Plunge the cutlet pieces in egg and rotate in breadcrumbs.
  • Warm up the oil slightly in a wok. Fry till the pieces gets brown colour.
  • Fish cutlet is ready.
  • You can serve it with chutney and potato fingers.

Saint Martin- Narikel Jinjira (Coconut Island)- Bangladesh

Saint Martin is the only and most beautiful coral island in Bangladesh. A place where you can enjoy beautiful coral reef and a sandy beach, coconut trees around the beach, beautiful marine life, deep blue water and most of all peaceful environment.
About 9 km south of the tip of the Cox’s Bazar to Teknaf peninsula, southernmost part of Bangladesh located in the Bay of Bengal. It is approximately 8 km west of the northwest coast at the mouth of the Naf River of Myanmar. Dhaka to St Martin is approximately 510 km in entire distance. St. Martin is only 8 sq km so it is possible to walk around the island within a day, which is reduced to about 5 sq km during high tide.
The original name of this island is Narikel Jinjira (Coconut Island). The Bengali name of the Coconut is Narikel.
Approximately 6,000 islanders stay on St. Martin’s island and they make living from tourism and fishing. Now a day the island has become quite popular from last few years and there are few luxury ocean liners in St Martin’s island routes. They are keary-Sindad, Sea-Truck and Kutubdia. November to February is tourist season of St. Martin.
Whenever you’ll think of St. Martin’s tour think about moonlight. The amazing beauty of full-moon in St. Martin’s Island never be expressed; whole night feel and listen the sound of the Bay of Bengal. Amazingly bountiful stars get on a moonless night, due to the lack of electricity on St. Martin.
Food of island is comparatively expensive than Cox’s Bazar. The islanders sell lobsters, see fish, dried see fish which is little expensive but very tasty. Crabs and Chickens are also available in there hotels.
You’ll get coconuts tasty water with very low cost. Don’t miss to drink coconuts to sit on coral with wetting legs in the sea, which is really amazing experience.
Cheera-dwip (Cheera-Island) is an extension part of St. Martin which is divided during high tides. It’s possible to go to Cheera-dwip by walk within two and half an hours from St. Martin, local motorboat or tourist boat is available to go to Cheera-dwip. A small bush is there which in the only green part of Cheera-dwip. People do not live in this Island, so advisable for the tourists to go there early and come back within afternoon.

Ingredients:

  • 500 gm Mutton
  • 10 crushed Garlic Cloves
  • 1 cup Mustard Oil
  • 1 inch grated piece of Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 cup Curd
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • Salt to taste


Let’s prepare/make Dry Mutton:

  • Hammer the curd.
  • Preserve mutton pieces in salt, curd and 1 tbsp of oil with turmeric for about 2 hours.
  • Heat up oil in a kadhai.
  • Include bay leaves, garlic and ginger.
  • Fry for a minute.
  • Add preserved mutton pieces.
  • Make the fire low and cook for nearly half an hour till the mutton pieces become tender.
  • Mix garam masala with it and stir as it should be.
  • When the mutton turns tender and almost dry, remove it from the flame.
  • Dry Mutton is ready.

  • Now add green chilli paste, gram flour, chaat masala, ginger paste, coriander powder, coriander leaves and little water to the corn kernels and all the item mix well.
  • Heat oil and drop spoonful of corn mixture and fry till gets it golden brown.
  • Take out from oil and serve.

  • 1 medium Chicken
  • 1 tbsp Wheat flour

  • 4 tbsp White oil
  • 1/2 Cup keora water
  • 8 Peppercorns
  • 200 gm Sour curd

Let’s prepare/make Chicken Rezala:
  • Cut and wash chicken into pieces.
  • Add garam masala, peppercorns and bay leaf to the heated oil.
  • Fry chicken pieces with the spices.
  • When the water gets dry in chicken, mix garlic, ginger and onion to it and cook well.
  • Merge a mixture of curd, flour and salt it.
  • Now mix keora water to it.
  • Vapour them with 3 cups of water in a pressure cooker for about 15 minutes.
  • Warm up ghee and red chilli with serving spoon and mix it with the chicken.
  • Ready to serve.

  • Release the prawns from the water and dry them appropriately.
  • Preserve them in the coconut mixture.
  • Put the prawns individually on a banana leaf.
  • Spread the chopped chilli on the prawns and cover it with another leaf.
  • Now put the whole item in a pressure cooker and cook for about twelve minutes.
  • Prawns are ready to serve.

  • Replicate the procedure for all the balls and then put them in the refrigerator for two hour or longer.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Grated Coconut
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 1 tbsp Condensed Milk
  • Date Palm Jaggery/1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Khoya
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Semolina
  • ¼ cup Rice Flour
  • Ghee to fry


Let’s prepare/make Pati Sapta:

  • First take a pan, adjoin suger to grated coconut.
  • Mash the coconut and mix it properly.
  • Now turn on the fire and put khoya in the pan. Burn the mixture till becomes sticky and turns a light brown. Now remove the pan.
  • To make batter, add fine rice flour in a vessel, all-purpose flour, semolina and mix them.
  • Add milk to make the consistency of the batter a smooth and skinny.
  • Heat a frying pan and spread a little oil/ghee on it.
  • Take a serving spoon full of batter and decant it on the frying pan. Consistently give out the batter in a loop.
  • When one side is cooked, turn over and set the padding lengthwise at the centre of the loop.
  • Fold it and let it cook until it gets a little brown.
  • Take it out; dash two tbsp of condensed milk on it.
  • Pati Sapta is ready.
  • Serve all the family members.

Nimki (Flour Cracker) Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Log in YouTube with Google account

Google account logins would optional at first, but would later become mandatory, which bought YouTube for $1.65 billion in 2006.

YouTube users could sign up to the site using one of two systems: the Google account system or the original, pre-acquisition account system between 2006 and May 2009. From May 2009 elapsed, Google essential all new YouTube users to sign in using a Google account.

Software engineer at Google, Brett Hobbs post on his blog, “YouTube usernames themselves aren’t going anywhere,” “No matter when you signed up for YouTube, or if you’re currently associated with a Google account, you’ll keep exactly the same username on the site.”

“You can create a Google account with any email address through many different Google products, just like you can create a Facebook or Twitter account with any email address.”

“Having all users on the same account system not only simplifies matter, but more important, it makes it much easier to use Google technologies to keep YouTube running smoothly.”

Google said that YouTube users can log on with older accounts or create a brand new one. The company has also created a Help Page to guide users.

Mishti Doi Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Ingredients:
  • 1 litre Milk (rich milk)
  • 2 tsp Sweet Curd
  • 200 gm Sugar

  • Boil the milk into shallow bottomed pan.
  • Add milk and 100gm of sugar and boil it again, blend it continuously, until the sugar melt.
  • In another pan, take the remaining 100g of sugar and melt it with water on a low fire, till it gets brown.
  • Add the sugar syrup to milk and let it to boil for a while.
  • Let it be Cool and now add the curd to it and mix up well.
  • Cover and permit it to set for 5-6 hours.
  • Serve.

Google 'explores' social networks

Last month the founder of Digg, Kevin Rose, "Ok, umm, huge rumor: Google to launch Facebook competitor very soon "Google Me," very credible source" on June 28, started a rumour that Google was to launch a new social network.

Ever since technology pundits have been speculating as to how a new Google social network might work.

Google’s lead user-experience researcher, Paul Adams, recently posted a presentation of his onto the web that seems reflect of social networks interest. He looked at one section: ‘How communications on the web are changing’.

“The next stage of the web won’t have target; it will be a spread network of content and people that will get reassembled depending on relationships and context. The raise in people communications on the web will mean that managing communities and building will be important for react to customer queries, complaints and suggestions Communities will need to be entrenched in consumer experiences and not built at a new target.” he said.

Facebook joins to Microsoft Office

Microsoft's Office email application allows connecting directly to serve information of Facebook.

Microsoft Outlook will now integrated with Facebook, LinkedIn, MSN Messenger and MySpace generous users’ access to a social version of email.

Microsoft Outlook already included their product, web-based rivals, Yahoo Mail, Hotmail, Microsoft’s premium email product and Gmail.

The new Facebook integration includes picture activities, status updates, wall posts and pictures for contacts.

Currently, users will not be able to "like" updates within Outlook.

Microsoft is separating social networks and email identities, so email address is not connected to a social network, it won’t join together even if a private email address for the same person is also connected.

Microsoft launch as an ‘iPad killers’

Microsoft is set to discharge a series of tablet-style computers, Windows-based this year as it seeks to see off the face up to posed by Apple’s iPad.

Microsoft’s chief executive, Steve Ballmer, told delegates at the company’s annual worldwide partner conference that they would find the range of devices “quite impressive”.

He said, "This year one of the most significant job that we’ll do in the smart device category is really push forward with Windows 7 phones and Windows 7-based slates".

"You’ll see a range of Windows 7-based slates over the course of the next several months that I think you'll find quite impressive. We are hard-core about this."

He confirmed, Sony, Asus, Toshiba, Dell and Samsung are among the consumer electronics companies that will be making Windows-based slates.

Vuvuzela fatwa: Is Vuvuzela haram!

The World Cup matches in South Africa make unholy noises by the horns of Vuvuzela — according to a religious announcement in the United Arab Emirates.

A fatwa by the UAE's General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments declares that the now-famous explosion from the plastic vuvuzela is not allowed (this is haram) in the Gulf country if it go above 100 decibels — about the sound of a passing train.

It says the characteristic of vuvuzela flash is up to 127 decibels.

The fatwa is based on the judgment that fans’ hearing can damage the din.

Nokia N900, a multitasking smartphone


Nokia N900 is different from other smartphone. Most disturbing feature of a smartphone is that most of them are not supporting multitasking, which means, if you want to browse more then one task simultaneously you can’t, but Nokia N900 is supporting multitasking. Nokia N900 is just like a computer. The N900 comes with a large WVGA touchscreen with a slider and a landscape-oriented keyboard.

It’s high-resolution of 800x480 pixels way more than the iPhone's same-sized screen. N900's spec sheet has the same highlights as the N97, including a 5MP camera and 32GB storage, a new Linux-based Maemo 5 operating system.

Adobe Flash 3D version coming up

Adobe is scheduling to release a 3D version of its well-liked Flash software, allowing videos and games to be played in 3D online.

The Adobe Max conference is coming up in October. The main agenda for the conference take account of a presentation titled "Flash Player 3D future".

The Adobe product manager, Thibault Imbert, has confirmed in a blog post that it there will be support for 3D applications in a future Flash version.

His post in full said, "If you are into 3D enlargement for games, increased reality or just interactive stuff like websites, you just can’t miss the session entitled Flash Player 3D future planned for Max 2010 scheduled on October 27 at 11:00AM in room 503. Flash Player engineer, Sebastian Marketsmueller, will deep dive into the next generation 3D API coming Flash Player in a future version.
