Mishti Doi Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Mishti Doi is about identical to Bengalis and no celebration is complete without Mishti Doi. Let’s learn how to prepare/make Mishti Doi Recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1 litre Milk (rich milk)
  • 2 tsp Sweet Curd
  • 200 gm Sugar

Let’s prepare/make Mishti Doi:
  • Boil the milk into shallow bottomed pan.
  • Add milk and 100gm of sugar and boil it again, blend it continuously, until the sugar melt.
  • In another pan, take the remaining 100g of sugar and melt it with water on a low fire, till it gets brown.
  • Add the sugar syrup to milk and let it to boil for a while.
  • Let it be Cool and now add the curd to it and mix up well.
  • Cover and permit it to set for 5-6 hours.
  • Serve.

Ghugni Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Ghugni is a well-liked and delicious Bengali snack recipe. Let’s learn how to prepare/make Ghugni Recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 2 Cups soaked white Peas
  • 1 chopped Tomato
  • 1/2 Cup chopped onion
  • 1 tsp crushed Garlic
  • 1 tsp grated Ginger
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 Cup oil
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seed powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • Salt to taste

Let’s prepare/make Ghugni:
  • Boil the soaked white peas till it turns soft.
  • Heat up the oil.
  • Fry ginger, garlic and onion.
  • Fry onion till it gets brown.
  • Include tomatoes and blend it appropriately.
  • Now mix up this with cooked peas.
  • Include coriander powder and cumin seed powder and let it boil.
  • Then include garam masala.
  • Decorate with chopped onion and coriander.

Cholar Dal Recipe: Bengali Recipes

Cholar Dal is a traditional delicious Bengali recipe. Let’s learn how to prepare/make Cholar Dal Recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 400 gms Yellow split gram (chana dal)
  • 4 Green chillies
  • 1 Cinnamon
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 4 tbsp Oil
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 3 tbsp Coconut powder (fried)
  • 2 tsp Sugar
  • Salt to taste


Let’s prepare/make Cholar Dal:

  • Wash the dal 2 or 3 times.
  • Include garam masala and turmeric powder.
  • Boil the daal till it turns soft.
  • Heat up the oil.
  • Add green chillies and cumin seeds.
  • Mix boiled water and dal.
  • Now include sugar, ghee and salt.
  • Boil it for 5 to 7 minutes (depend on you).
  • Decorate with fried coconut.
